Clothed in Christ

It's often said, "And you call yourself a Christian, behaving like that!" This is usually the accusation of unbelievers leveled at believers who fall short of Christ's standard.

The Apostle Paul addressed this directly in his letter to the Colossians:

"Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." (Colossians 3:12, NIV)

Paul calls believers to put on these good traits—compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—not to earn God's favor, but because they are already chosen and loved by Him.

Daily action: Just as we choose our clothes each morning, we should deliberately "clothe" ourselves with these godly traits rather than defaulting to bad attitudes.

Key Virtues to Practice.

Compassion — Caring for the hurts of others.

Kindness — Doing good deeds with a sweet spirit.

Humility — Thinking of oneself without pride.

Gentleness — Choosing softness and mildness over harshness.

Patience — Waiting well and staying calm under stress.
